Global midwifery fees include prenatal, birth, and postpartum care with Birth Wellness. Because care and pricing are individualized based on each person’s unique circumstances, we do not offer a one-size-fits-all midwifery fee. Expected costs for care are discussed during your consultation visit and may also be reviewed by phone once we have more information about your specific care needs.
We accept cash, check, credit or debit cards (3% processing fee), and HSA payments.
Birth Wellness is an out-of-network provider and does not bill insurance directly. Upon request, an out-of-network global maternity superbill can be provided after the birth and completion of postpartum care. The maternity fee is due in full directly to Birth Wellness by 36 weeks’ gestation. Families may seek reimbursement from their insurance company by submitting the superbill after the birth.
Please note that we do not accept Medicaid.
We assist with billing for many healthcare sharing ministries and help complete the necessary forms and documentation. Payment may be due in advance, and families may submit a superbill to their ministry for reimbursement.
We enjoy meeting families during an in-person consultation for care at Birth Wellness. We understand that choosing a care provider is an important decision, and that you have many options. Prior to your consultation, you will receive a Consult Booklet with detailed information about our philosophy of care, services, and expectations, allowing you time to review and come prepared with questions.
The in-person consultation is an opportunity for us to get to know one another, review your health history, and discuss your hopes for pregnancy and birth. Eligibility for care is assessed during this visit. If you are eligible and choose to begin care with Birth Wellness, the consultation marks the beginning of a meaningful and supportive journey for you and your family.
While eligibility for care is typically determined at the consultation visit, it may change as pregnancy and birth unfold. Ongoing risk assessment is a routine part of midwifery care. In accordance with Tennessee regulations, consultation with or transfer of care to a physician is required if significant deviations arise during pregnancy or birth.
