Birth in the comfort of your home
Make plans to stay in our home
    Birth at your home
Birthing in the intimacy of your own home can be very empowering. When birth occurs at home,
your providers do the traveling and are your guests. Women and families who desire a home birth generally
are very comfortable with childbirth and are willing to take the added responsibility of obtaining supplies
and organizing extra support from family and friends. Waterbirth is an available option for home birth
    clients.
You may use your own tub provided it is at least 18 inches deep, or rent/purchase a waterbirth tub.

    Stay in our home
Our guest room is available for home birth families once labor has begun. Our home has a beautiful garden
tub with hand-held sprayers and unlimited hot water. Water is a well known, effective tool for relieving
much of the pain in labor without the side effects of drugs.

    Traveling from Alabama
Chattanooga is straight up I-59 from Birmingham. Families coming from Fort Payne, Scottsboro or the
Gadsen areas can expect about 1 ½ hours or less of driving time to reach Chattanooga. From Birmingham,
it will be a little over a 2 hour drive. Let me know if you are coming from further away.

    Traveling from Georgia
From the Atlanta area, Chattanooga is straight up I-75. Parents can expect to travel 1 ½  to 2 hours
from greater Atlanta. Families living in Marietta and north can expect a drive 1 to 1 ½ hours or less to the
    Belvoir home.
